Thousands of grade seven learners turned up during the 2013 selection process for the Transnet Foundation’s Orphaned Youth Education Development Programme with hopes of making it into the life changing education support. With only 20 bursary places available and an even stiffer adjusted selection criterion, it is only appropriate to say that only the best out of the best qualified for the scholarships.

“This is a group of young and dynamic people who took it upon themselves to become Transnet Ambassadors. They wear the Transnet brand with pride and are eager to learn about Transnet, so that they can teach others about the amazing corporate citizen that Transnet is. They have become a cohesive unit and give support to each other. Most importantly they are driven to succeed. By the end of the academic year we are expecting a number of distinctions from these ambitious youth,” explains Transnet Foundation Senior Manager for Education, Theresa Moila.
