Transnet Thokoza Community Centre launch

Dear Madam/Sir,

The Transnet’s Socio-Economic Infrastructure Development portfolio (SEID), formerly known as the Container Assistance Programme, is a community upliftment programme within the Transnet Foundation that utilised old, disused freight containers for a myriad of community benefit applications to meet varied infrastructure needs of under-resourced communities. Over 40 container structures have been completed across the country including 19 satellite police stations, 8 classrooms, 3 Transnet community centres, libraries, computer centres and 18 multi-purpose centres.

The programme success is underpinned by its partnerships which allows Transnet to syndicate competencies, skills and resources with likeminded partners to deliver sustainable community outcomes. Partners include, amongst other entities, the SAPS, government departments and communities.

On behalf of the Department of Public Enterprises The Honorable Minister Lynne Brown and Transnet Board Chairperson Ms Linda Mabaso, the Transnet Foundation would like to invite you to the official launch of the Transnet Thokoza Community Centre in Ekurhuleni.
